- WCross-references point the reader to a specific page, section number, figure or table
- 9number, or to the title of a section, figure, or table.

- To insert a cross-reference:
- EOpen the document containing the information to be cross-referenced.
- GPut the insertion point where you want the cross-reference and choose
- 'Cross-Reference from the Special menu.
- eIn the Cross-Reference dialog box

- :be cross-referenced from the Source Document pop-up menu.

- s paragraph formats appear in the Source Type scroll list.
- UIn the Source Type scroll list, select X-Ref Marker or a paragraph tag. For example,

- TAs you edit a document, cross-references may become incorrect due to changes in the ap
- text. You can update:
- ?Internal references (cross-references to the current document)
- !References to all open documents
- 2References to all documents, both open and closed
- To update cross-references:
- .Choose Cross-Reference from the Special menu.

- @Click Update to display the Update Cross-References dialog box.
- LClick a button to indicate the cross-references to be updated and click OK.
